What's the excitement about Twitter?

I'm new to Twitter and have finally decided to register and have a look at it.. I tried to resist for a while, but in the end I folded. What is it about Twitter that excites you?

I love how Twitter is a medium for microblogging and that I don't have to write an entry so long. It also connects me to people worldwide!

I can see the attraction of brief messages. No doubt there is a lot of attraction to Twitter because it offers many options on all different levels...personally and financially and it is so real-time... it has a real energy about it.
